Lilly Library
The Lilly Library was established in 1960 to house the extensive private library of the late Josiah K. Lilly Jr., one of Lilly Endowment's founders. The Lilly Library now contains more than 450,000 rare books, 8.5 million manuscripts and 150,000 sheets of music. Part of the IU Libraries, the venerable limestone building is in the heart of IU Bloomington's Fine Arts Plaza, the campus's center for the arts and humanities.
Wells Quadrangle
Wells Quadrangle is also one of the most Instagram-able residential locations at IU. Renovations might have modernized the building, but Wells Quad residents still feel like they live in a castle in the woods. Students love the quiet study environment and the on-site Goodbody Eatery, but everyone's favorite spot is the stone patio overlooking scenic campus views.
The Old Crescent
The Old Crescent is the historical core of IU Bloomington and home to some of the most iconic scenes on campus including the Sample Gates and Dunn Woods. In recent years, the historic buildings were renovated allowing classrooms and departments to return and restore the Old Crescent to a vital center of academic activity.
Indiana Memorial Union
The Indiana Memorial Union has been the heart of Indiana University Bloomington for more than 100 years. Since its earliest days, the IMU has served as the hub of the campus, providing a welcoming place for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors to connect with each other and the campus as they eat, relax, study, play, or celebrate. Today, over a century after its founding, the IMU continues to be the lifeblood of IU Bloomington—a home away from home for the IU community and a gateway for visitors to campus, greeting one and all with Hoosier hospitality.
